Model: Antonia Eden
This edgy 60′s hairstyle by Mario and funky pose demands something to push the image over the top. The elegant bright blue dress didn’t fit in with the muted greens and brick tones so I applied a cross-processing lomo effect to yellow the entire image and exaggerate the contrast. To complete the lomo effect, I then applied a transparent posterization effect and added textures to give the image a rough grunge look. The final image is quite edgy as was intended with the hair, model expression/pose, and dated set.

Model: Jenna Cartin
Jenna’s fantasy makeup by Juliana required something “off the wall” so this shot was styled to emphasize the graphic elements of the set. I set up the key light as a 400ws strobe with a 6″ reflector from behind where I was shooting to simulate late day sunlight with hard shadows. I set the camera exposure about 2 stops darker than the ambient light in the studio and positioned a 3×4 softbox to camera left as a fill light at -1.5 stops so the shadows would have detail. A cross-processing lomo effect was applied in Photoshop to increase contrast, yellowing the highlights and bluing the shadow tones. The desired effect was to create interesting graphical interplay between the model, her makeup, and the graphical elements while maintaining a glamor glow for the skin tones, face and makeup.
