Airport Show 2010

Written by sam on July 13th, 2010

The Atlanta Photography Group has a juried show which will be exhibited in the Atlanta airport during Atlanta Celebrates Photography. This show will have the largest exposure of any display in the city due to the enormous traffic that goes through the airport. There is no theme to the show and the submissions do not need to come from a body of work. The key requirement is that the photos must have a big impact when enlarged to 36 inches wide (the display size). I’m always frustrated when submitting to these type of shows because much depends upon what else is submitted as the juror assembles a cohesive show.

I chose to submit mostly travel photos of landscapes and city scenes that have great details and interesting compositions. People in airports certainly should be attracted to colorful scenic locations. But I didn’t want to miss an opportunity to submit one fashion photo which I feel will have the WOW factor when printed very large. It’s a long shot because this group is unlikely to submit fashion photos. Well, we’ll see what the juror thinks.

The deadline is Friday and these are the shots I’m planning to submit. What do you think?
